Power Steering Hose | Nissan Murano

What is the recall?
Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2014 Murano SUVs. Due to a supplier issue that has since been corrected,  the power steering hose clamp may not adequately secure the hose, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid. The potential number of units affected by this recall is 56,766. The NHTSA campaign number is: 17V184000.

What's the risk if I don't bring it in?
Should the power steering hose detach, you may experience a gradual increase in steering effort due to loss of power steering fluid. Additionally, if the power steering fluid leaks onto a heat source such as a hot engine or exhaust components, there could be an increased risk of fire.

Will I get a formal notice?
Yes. Nissan will begin notifying owners of all potentially affected vehicles in May 2017, via U.S. Mail. You can also search recalls by VIN number here: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/.

When was this discovered?
