How to Make Sure Your Car Makes it Through Autumn in One Piece

Wow did that feel like a long summer to anyone else? It felt like we were in heat waves forever and now we are finally on the other side. Welcome to fall! There’s plenty to be excited about, unless you’re a Tennessee football fan, but there’s also one thing to be cautious about: Autumn can be rough on your car. Between falling leaves and changing road conditions, your car may not be as excited as you are.

So here are some simple things you can do to make sure your car can survive the months ahead in tact

Give it Some Elbow Grease: Nothing will be more effective than some good ol’ fashion fall cleaning. But don’t just do it once, stay on top of it all season, because your engine, paint and finish needs you to. You should also clean the inside of your car as well. Shake out the floor mats, vacuum all around the seats, and use upholstery cleaner for stains. Also throw away any trash, and dust off the dash and the console. Everyone who rides in your car will thank you!

Make sure you’re A/C Works: You probably pushed you’re A/C to the limit during the summer, so now you can take some time to make sure everything is ok with it. Try it out and make sure everything works well!

Pay Attention to Your Wipers: The next hurricane could be right around the corner, so could the next snowstorm, so always make sure your wipers are ready to work for you on a moment’s notice. This is one thing you don’t want to leave for chance. We’re still in hurricane season so you don’t want to take any chances.

Check Alignment and Suspension: Roads during the colder months get worse too, while you deal with issues like potholes. This can ruin your car’s alignment and suspension. Does your car pull to one side or does the steering wheel vibrates as you drive? Ask for a quick alignment check to fix any issues you may be having.
